Alternative Soundtracks is a series where I reimagine some of the greatest scenes in cinema and TV history. The first one features…

The ending of “Thelma & Louise” (1991)

with my song “We Can’t Help But Love Each Other (Even As We Let Go)

When I heard that my mother has cancer, it made me reflect on how life has loss built into it – how we are destined to part with those we love. But not only sadness, it also brought a deep gratitude for the moments we have shared. We Can’t Help But Love Each Other (Even As We Let Go) is my attempt to capture those feelings in a way that speaks universally.

It’s a bittersweet song about love and letting go, reflecting the moment when two people share something real while knowing their story cannot last forever.

The track fits film and television (closing) scenes where parting holds both sadness and beauty. It may also support commercials, campaigns, or other media that explore themes of change, memory, and the passing of time.

I thought it would be fun to try to pair it with the ending of Ridley Scott’s amazing Thelma & Louise. Turns out I love it.

What classic bittersweet scene should I reimagine next?
